Radio Broadcast set for Music Based on Jack Boul Art

The classical radio powerhouse in Washington DC, WETA-FM, will be broadcasting a concert in April inspired by the paintings and monotypes of Jack Boul. This chamber was performed and recorded at the Kreeger Museum in Washington, DC.

The recording will air on Monday, April 27, at 9pm ET on WETA’s Front Row Washington program, which can be heard on 90.9 FM locally or through WETA’s online player further afield.

The music was based on eight Jack Boul paintings and was composed by Roger Tréfousse.

During the Kreeger performance, the paintings were projected one-at-a-time on a large screen behind the musicians. The music was performed by the Faculty Ensemble from the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.

The composition, entitled “Sound and Sight” has already been broadcast on six classical radio stations in California, Oregon, North Carolina and Massachusetts.
